Earnhardt Jr. wins NASCAR Sharpie 500

BRISTOL, Tenn., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished 4.390 seconds ahead of Ryan Newman to win Saturday night's Sharpie 500 at the Bristol Motor Speedway.

The Chevrolet driver collected his fourth win of the season and 13th of his Nextel Cup career. He also won the Busch Series race Friday night.

Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Burton and Elliott Sadler completed the top-five.

Just two races remain for drivers to make the field for the "Chase for the Championship." The next event is the Pop Secret 500 at the California Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 5 and the final race before the "playoffs" begin will take place at Richmond the following week.

Kurt Busch, who had won three straight and four out of five at Bristol, finished eighth.
