ATHENS, Greece, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- China rallied from a two-set deficit Saturday night to defeat Russia and win the women's Olympic volleyball gold medal.
The Chinese prevailed, 28-30, 25-27, 25-20, 25-23, 15-12.

In the bronze medal match, Cuba produced a four-set win over Brazil. Cuba had won the gold in the three previous Olympics.
"We are very happy about the bronze medal, and happier about beating Brazil, which is one of the best teams in the world," said Cuba's Nancy Carrillo de la Paz.
