MLB: NY Yankees 8, Toronto 7

TORONTO, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Bernie Williams hit a two-run homer to lead the New York Yankees to an 8-7 win over Toronto Friday night.

Derek Jeter and Hideki Matsui each added solo homers for the Yankees, who have won four of their last five games.

Tanyon Sturtze (5-2) picked up the win with 2 2/3 innings in relief of Esteban Loaiza.

Carlos Delgado hit a three-run homer and had a season-high four RBI for the Blue Jays, who have lost four straight games.

Justin Miller (2-3), who celebrated his 27th birthday, took the loss after permitting six runs and six hits over just 4 2/3 innings. He walked six and fanned one.

Trailing 3-2, New York seized the lead as it scored four runs in the fifth, topped by Williams' 17th homer, with Kenny Lofton aboard.
