Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
ATHENS, Greece, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Guo Jingjing and Wu Minxia gave China gold and silver Thursday night in the Olympic women's springboard diving event.
China ran its diving medal total to seven.
Guo won with a score of 633.15 points, more than 21 points higher than her silver medal winning teammate. Guo and Wu teamed to win gold last week in the three-meter synchronized competition.
Russian Yulia Pakhalina finished third with 610.62 points. American Rachelle Kunkel finished ninth after barely qualifying for the final in the 12th spot.
The United States is without a diving medal in these Games.
