MLB: Arizona 5, Pittsburgh 4

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Alex Cintron's RBI single in the top of the ninth snapped a tie game Monday as the Arizona Diamondbacks edged the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-4.

Chris Snyder had a two-run homer and three RBI for the Diamondbacks, who won for just the fifth time in their last 17 games. Cintron finished 2-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs.

Casey Fossum worked six innings for Arizona, but was not involved in the outcome. Fossum yielded four runs and eight hits while striking out four and walking three.

Craig Wilson hit a solo homer for the Pirates, who have dropped five straight contests. Jose Castillo had three hits in the setback.
