GREEN BAY, Wis., Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Veteran New Orleans Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks aggravated a strained right thigh injury in the team's 19-14 pre-season loss at Green Bay Saturday night.

He was hurt during the second quarter and a subsequent X-ray revealed the extent of the injury.

Team doctors did not announce anything concerning his playing status. The former fourth-round pick by the Packers in 1999 was injured on a three-yard scramble. He finished 7-of-13 passing for 44 yards in his first action of the pre-season, and did not lead the team to any points.

"I felt pretty good, but obviously I'm not where I want to be, as I aggravated my injury," Brooks told the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

His passer rating for the contest was only 61.1.
