American duo wins sailing gold medal

ATHENS, Greece, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Americans Paul Foerster and Kevin Burnham teamed to win the Olympic men's 470 sailing class Saturday, 12 years after Burnham won a silver in the event.

Burnham, 47, claimed the silver in Barcelona and Foerster, 40, was a silver medalist in the 470 four years ago.

The British team of Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield claimed the silver medal while the Japanese duo of Kazuto Seki and Kenjiro Todoroki got the bronze.

Also Saturday, Ben Ainslie of Great Britain took gold in the finn regatta. It was his second Olympic medal. Rafael Trujillo of Spain won silver, while Mateusz Kusznierewicz took the bronze.

In the women's 470, Natalia Via Dufresne and Sandra Azon of Spain won the silver and Sweden's Therese Torgersson and Vendela Zachrisson the bronze. Sofia Bekatorou and Aimilia Tsoulfa of Greece had already won the gold with a race to spare on Thursday.

The Greek team did not even take part in the final race Saturday.

The Ukranians won the yngling class, followed by Denmark and Britain.
