ATHENS, Greece, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Jennie Finch threw a one-hitter Wednesday and United States' offense continued to shine in a 7-0 Olympic softball win over Canada.

The Americans have outscored five Olympic opponents, 31-0, with two games left before the semifinals.

It was the third "mercy rule" victory of the tournament. The only hit Canada mustered was a bunt single.

Canada fell to 2-3 and is in danger of missing the medal round.

Lisa Fernandez went three for four with a homer and Crystal Bustos hit a long homer on a pitch that was chin high.

In other games Wednesday, Taiwan edged Italy, 1-0, and Australia shut out China, 5-0.
