ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 17 (UPI) -- The Tampa Bay Devil Rays posted an 8-3 victory Tuesday night over the Anaheim Angels.
Toby Bell drove in two runs and Carl Crawford scored twice and stole a pair of bases for Tampa Bay, which snapped a six-game losing streak. Nineteen-year-old rookie shortstop B.J. Upton hit his first home run and had two RBI.
Dewon Brazelton (5-4) earned the win after pitching 5 1/3 innings and allowing three runs on eight hits.
Darin Erstad homered for the Angels, who lost for the fourth time in their last seven games.
Kelvim Escobar (7-9) gave up five runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings.
The Devil Rays grabbed the lead in the first when Tino Martinez singled home Crawford. The Angels tied it in the third on a run-scoring single by David Eckstein, but Upton's homer in the bottom of the inning put Tampa back on top.
