Play rained out at Russian Open

MOSCOW, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Heavy rains left Le Meridien Moscow Country Club under water Saturday, forcing suspension of the third round of the European Tour's Russian Open.

Rain throughout the morning soaked the course and conditions did not improve in the afternoon. Play was halted at 5:20 a.m. (et), before ultimately being called for the day.

Leaders Kariem Baraka and Henrik Nystrom completed one hole before play waqs suspended. Baraka, nephew of European Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer, and Nystrom remain knotted at 10-under par. Gary Emerson, Markus Brier and Euan Little are at minus-nine.

Play is scheduled to resume Sunday morning.
