SEATTLE, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Ruben Sierra turned a pitch from reliever Scott Atchinson into a grand slam Friday to lead the Yankees to an 11-3 win over the Mariners in Seattle.

Jon Lieber (9-7) got the win, and Ron Villone (4-3) took the loss, surrendering eight runs on 10 hits in just 3 1/3 innings.

Jorge Posada's 15th homer of the year in the ninth capped the scoring for New York.

In the second Bernie Williams clubbed his 15th homer of the season to put the Yankees up 4-0.

Miguel Olivo got a two-run homer in the fifth to put the Mariners on the board and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jolbert Cabrera in the eighth made it 10-3.
