BUDAPEST, Hungary, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Michael Schumacher captured the pole Saturday for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring, just outside of Budapest.

The Ferrari driver circled the 14-turn, 2.722-mile road course in one minute, 19.146 seconds. The time was more than two seconds faster than last year's top time.

On the front row with Schumacher will be his teammate Rubens Barrichello. The Brazilian posted a time of 1:19.323 after being quickest in the pre-qualifying session.

The second row will also consist of teammates, BAR/Honda's Takuma Sato (1:19.693) and Jenson Button (1:19.700).

Button has announced that he has signed with the Williams/BMW team for 2005, but BAR countered that he was still under contract and the team would not let him go.

Button is currently third in the drivers standings behind Schumacher Barrichello.
