OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Craig Monroe drove in three runs Thursday in leading Detroit to its second straight win over Oakland, 5-3.
Rondell White put the Tigers in front for good with a homer in the sixth and Mike Maroth went seven innings to register the victory.

Mike Kotsay and Damian Miller homered for the Athletics.
Maroth (9-7) is unbeaten in his last six starts and held the Athletics to two runs on eight hits.
Tim Hudson started for Oakland, but the loss went to Justin Duchscherer (4-4), who gave up White's home run. Monroe followed with a homer later in the sixth.
