Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Oakland Raiders linebacker Napoleon Harris will miss three to six weeks after injuring his right knee in a collision with a teammate in practice.
"Napoleon told me he'd be back for the (regular-season) opener," Coach Norv Turner told the San Francisco Chronicle after Harris was hurt Monday. "He was in good spirits."
Harris, 25, one of the team's defensive captains, was a first-round pick by the Raiders in the 2002 draft.
