STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Third-seeded Alicia Molik of Australia defeated Tatiana Perebiynis in straight sets Sunday to win the Nordea Nordic Light Open championship.

Molik, 23, dominated her overmatched opponent as she needed less than an hour to beat the Ukranian 6-1, 6-1 and capture her second career WTA Tour singles title. She was also a winner at Hobart in 2003.

Molik lost to Anna Smashnova-Pistolesi in the Vienna championship back in May. Smashnova- Pistolesi was this week's top seed, but was forced to retire from her second- round match with a hamstring injury.
