MONTREAL, Aug. 6 (UPI) --
Second-seeded Amelie Mauresmo outbattled Karolina Sprem Friday to reach the semifinals of the Rogers Cup.
Vera Zvonareva, , Anastasia Myskina and Elena Likhovtseva also made it into the semifinals while Jennifer Capriati was eliminated.
Mauresmo rallied to defeat Sprem 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. Maruesmo will now take on the 10th-seeded Zvonareva, who had no problem defeating Tatiana Golovin 6-3, 6-1.
Myskina, this year's French Open winner, overcame a slow start to win over Magdalena Maleeva 7-5, 6-1.
Likhovtseva upset Capriati 6-2, 7-5 in one hour, 28 minutes.
