Philadelphia sends Coleman to Detroit

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Philadelphia sent forward Derrick Coleman to Detroit on Wednesday in exchange for forward Corliss Williamson and cash considerations.

Center Amal McCaskill also went to the Pistons.

Coleman, a 14-year veteran, has a career average of 16.6 points per game. Injuries cost him 48 games in Philadelphia last season.

Williams has played nine years with an average of 11.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest. He averaged 9.5 points in 79 regular-season games last season and had a 5.7-point average during the playoffs.
