ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Toby Hall's first career grand slam in the seventh inning Wednesday night boosted Tampa Bay to a 5-4 decision over Boston.
With the Devil Rays facing a 4-1 deficit, Jose Cruz reached on a single, Tino Martinez walked and Julio Lugo loaded the bases when he reached on a fielding error by third baseman Kevin Youkilis.

That brought up Hall, who hit a 1-2 pitch from Bronson Arroyo to left for his grand slam.
Rocco Baldelli drove in Tampa Bay's other run with a double and also threw out the would-be tying run at the plate in the ninth.
Travis Harper (3-2) got the win by working the seventh inning.
