Summerall to broadcast for ESPN

NEW YORK, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Veteran play-by-play announcer Pat Summerall will be back in the broadcast booth in time for the ESPN's pre-season football games.

Summerall, 74, has been on the sidelines since April when he underwent a liver transplant. He will be replacing Mike Patrick, who will have heart bypass surgery in the next few weeks. Patrick is expected to be back for the regular season.
