Billick signs contract extension

OWINGS MILLS, Md., July 29 (UPI) -- Baltimore Ravens Coach Brian Billick signed a multiyear contract extension Thursday.

The team did not disclose details, but the Baltimore Sun reported the contract is estimated to total about $4.5 million annually.

The Ravens won the Super Bowl under Billick in 2000 and they have made the playoffs three of the past four seasons. Their record in that period is 52-35.

"I want to stay in Baltimore," Billick told the newspaper. "I have no interest in finishing my career anyplace but with Baltimore and the Ravens. This takes a giant step that way. That's exciting to me and my family."
