MLB: Baltimore 4, Boston 1

BALTIMORE, July 28 (UPI) -- Javy Lopez hit two home runs Wednesday night and Dave Borkowski allowed three hits over seven innings as Baltimore defeated Boston, 4-1.

Borkowski struck out seven without a walk and combined with B.J. Ryan on a four-hitter.

The game was still scoreless in the fifth when Lopez reached Curt Schilling with a solo homer to left. Schilling had retired the previous 13 batters.

Borkowski (2-2) also retired the first 13 batters he faced before Nomar Garciaparra singled with one out in the fifth.

Lopez homered again in the seventh after Miguel Tejada's double, making it 4-0.
