IRVING, Texas, July 27 (UPI) -- The Dallas Cowboys Tuesday waived quarterback Chad Hutchinson.

The two-year veteran, a former baseball pitching prospect, became expendable after the signing of another former baseball player, Drew Henson, and the acquisition of Vinny Testaverde following his release by the New York Jets.

Hutchinson played in only one game last year after he made nine starts as a rookie in 2002. The 6-5, 237-pounder had become angry, feeling the Cowboys could have released him much sooner to afford him a better chance to latch on with another team.
