MLB: Arizona 4, Houston 1

PHOENIX, July 27 (UPI) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks ended their losing streak at 14 games with a 4-1 win over Houston Monday.

Scott Hairston and Luis Gonzalez hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning to give Brandon Webb the runs he needed for his fourth win against 11 defeats.

Webb had not won in his nine previous starts. He pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowing six hits and Houston's lone run.

Houston starter Andy Pettitte (6-4), the loser, left after five innings with a sore elbow.

Hairston had four hits and scored two runs.

The win was the fifth in 35 games for the Diamondbacks.
