CHICAGO, July 23 (UPI) -- The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Magglio Ordonez on the 15-day disabled list Friday with edema in his left knee.

Team officials said Ordonez would likely be on crutches for one to two months.

The move was retroactive to July 22. Chicago recalled outfielder Joe Borchard from Class AAA Charlotte to replaced Ordonez on the active roster.
