MILWAUKEE, July 22 (UPI) -- The first round of the U.S. Bank Championship ended in an eight-way tie Thursday with Bo Van Pelt and Robert Gamez among those sharing the lead.

The eight-way tie at 5-under 65 matched the PGA Tour first-round record, set at the Honda Classic four years ago.
