TORONTO, July 10 (UPI) -- Kelvim Escobar struck out nine Saturday and Bengie Molina hit his second career grand slam to lead Anaheim to an 11-2 win over Toronto.
After spending the first seven years of his career with the Blue Jays, Escobar signed a lucrative free-agent contract with Anaheim last November.
His debut season with the Angels got off to a good start as the Venezuelan righthander went 4-2 in his first 10 starts. But he had not won since June 3.
In this one, Escobar (5-5) allowed two runs and five hits with three walks in 5 1/3 innings.
Molina capped the Angels' offensive eruption with a grand slam in a seven-run seventh inning.
Chone Figgins had a three-run double in the fifth inning and added his 13th triple of the season in the seventh tying.
Toronto starter Ted Lilly (7-6) surrendered six runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings.
