SAN DIEGO, July 7 (UPI) -- Roy Oswalt took a shutout into the seventh Wednesday night and Jose Vizcaino went four for four to lead Houston past San Diego, 5-1.

Houston dropped the first two games of the series to enter play Wednesday in danger of falling to the .500 mark for the first time since April 11.

The Astros handed the ball to the right guy as Oswalt (8-6) won his fourth straight start.

Throwing 66 of 99 pitches for strikes, Oswalt fell two outs shy of working eight innings for the fourth straight outing. He allowed one run and six hits while striking out six.

Craig Biggio led off the game with a single before Vizcaino belted his second homer of the season to give Houston a quick lead. Adam Everett added a sacrifice fly later in the inning as the Astros batted around, giving Oswalt a chance to hit before he took the mound.
