MLB: Philadelphia 6, NY Mets 5

PHILADELPHIA, July 5 (UPI) -- Pat Burrell had a pair of run-scoring hits as Philadelphia pounded Tom Glavine for six runs in two innings and took a 6-5 win over the New York Mets.

Glavine, named to his ninth All-Star team on Sunday, has been plagued with minimal run support this season. The Mets have scored just five runs in his previous three starts, but gave him a three-run cushion in the first he could not hold.

Four Phillies relievers combined for 4 1/3 scoreless innings.

Ryan Madson (6-2) pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Paul Abbott. Billy Wagner worked the ninth for his 13th save.

Cliff Floyd drove in four runs for the Mets.

The Mets jumped on Abbott early as Kaz Matsui reached on a throwing error by shortstop Jimmy Rollins and scored on Floyd's 12th homer. Richard Hidalgo followed with his eighth homer in 16 games.
