DETROIT, July 1 (UPI) -- Cleveland's Jody Gerut hit a solo home run in the top of the 10th inning Thursday and the Indians beat the Detroit Tigers 7-6.
The loss ended a six-game winning streak for Detroit.

Cleveland led 6-5 in the ninth but Detroit tied it on a homer by Bobby Higginson. Earlier, Dmitri Young hit a grand slam for the Tigers.
Gerut had four hits and has nine runs batted in nine games against Detroit.
David Riske (4-2) got the win in relief. Detroit closer Ugueth Urbina (3-3), who gave up the Gerut home run, was the loser.
