LAKE FOREST, Ill., June 29 (UPI) -- The Chicago Bears Monday signed defensive lineman Tank Johnson, their second-round pick in this year's draft, to a five-year contract.

The Bears envision Johnson, a 6-3, 300-pounder out of Washington, playing alongside first-round pick Tommie Harris, a defensive tackle from Oklahoma, seeing them as the future of Chicago's defensive interior, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

ESPN reported that Johnson received a $1.72 million signing bonus.

Johnson, 22, finished his college career with 64 tackles, including 29 for losses, and 15 sacks. Ten of the sacks and 18 1/2 of the tackles for losses came in 2003.
