
CHICAGO, June 26 (UPI) -- Paul Konerko's 19th home run of the season highlighted a five-run third Saturday as the Chicago White Sox posted a 6-3 win over the Chicago Cubs.
The White Sox hit three homers Saturday and rank second in the major leagues with 105, one behind the New York Yankees.
Konerko got it started with his three-run blast and Joe Crede hit a two-run homer off Carlos Zambrano (7-3) in the third inning, giving the White Sox a 5-0 lead.
Jose Valentin added a solo home run off Francis Beltran in the seventh inning.
Friday, Konerko hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning of a 7-4 loss to the Cubs.
Felix Diaz (1-1), who was recalled from the minors Friday when Scott Schoeneweis was placed on the 15-day disabled list, earned his first major league win. He allowed three runs and six hits.
