CLEVELAND, June 25 (UPI) -- Larry Walker hit his third home run of the game to snap a 10th-inning tie Friday night and lead Colorado to a 10-8 victory over Cleveland.
It was just the fourth game of the season for Walker, who had missed all season with a strained groin. He entered the opener of this three-game set just one for six.
Walker opened the scoring with a solo homer in the first, added another solo shot in the sixth to get Colorado within 5-3 and snapped an 8-8 tie with a one-out, two-run homer in the 10th.
It was Walker's third career three-homer game.
The game-winning blast came off former teammate Jose Jimenez (1-6), who has faced Walker three times, with all three at-bats resulting in home runs.
Walker finished four for four, moving within three hits of 2,000 in his career.
