MLB: Chicago White Sox 7, Cleveland 1

CHICAGO, June 24 (UPI) -- Chicago's Jose Valentin hit a three-run home run in a 7-1 White Sox victory Thursday over the Cleveland Indians.

Valentin's shot came in the first inning. The White Sox scored four more runs in the eighth.

The Indians scored their run in the fifth on a double by Coco Crisp and single by Matt Lawton.

Jon Rauch (1-1), got the win, allowing six hits and a run in five innings.

Jake Westbrook (6-4) was the losing pitcher.
