Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

PITTSFORD, N.Y., June 23 (UPI) -- Annika Sorenstam shoots for her fifth tour title of the year in the Wegman's Rochester LPGA in New York.
The tournament starts Thursday at the par-72, 6,200-yard Locust Hill Country Club course.
Sorenstam has won half of the eight U.S. events she has entered this year, including the LPGA Championship, her seventh major title.
Grace Park, who won the year's first major, the Kraft Nabisco Championship in March, is also entered in the Wegman's event, which was won last year by Rachel Teske of Australia.
Teske is back to defend her title. Others in the field include 2004 tour winners Se Ri Pak, Jennifer Rosales, Sherri Steinhauer and Lorena Ochoa, last year's runnerup.
