CLEVELAND, June 23 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Aleksandar Pavlovic from Charlotte Wednesday, one day after the Bobcats selected him in the expansion draft.
Pavlovic, 20, who played for the Utah Jazz last season, was traded to Cleveland for a future first-round draft pick.
"We look at Sasha as a low-risk, high-reward addition to our team," Cavaliers President Jim Paxson said. "He has already proven he can play at the NBA level and, at only 20 years old, he could potentially develop into a very good player. He is an exceptional athlete who fills a need at the wing positions, has a good feel for the game and possesses excellent shooting range."
Pavlovic averaged 4.8 points in 79 games as a rookie with the Jazz.
He played for the Serbia and Montenegro Under-20 National Team and in the Euroleague before going to the NBA.
