Killeen has two-shot lead at LPGA Classic

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J., June 19 (UPI) -- Denise Killeen, winless in 13 years on the LPGA Tour, shot her second straight 6-under-par 65 Saturday for a two-shot lead at the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

The 42-year-old Killeen began the second round tied for the lead with 24-year-old Italian Giulia Sergas, now in second place.

Killeen's best career finish was a tie for fourth at the Longs Drugs Challenge and Michelob Light Classic in 2001. The Georgia native has just four top-10 finishes in the last seven years.

Killeen has played 36 holes here without a bogey and completed Saturday's round with four straight birdies.

Sergas also is seeking her first career victory. She has only been on the LPGA Tour for three years.

Amateur Paula Creamer and Christie Kerr are tied for third at 8-under 134, one shot ahead of Korean Mi Hyun Kim. Joanne Mills and Carin Koch are tied for sixth at 136.
