PHOENIX, June 16 (UPI) -- Miguel Cairo droved in two runs and Gary Sheffield hit a solo homer as the New York Yankees beat Arizona 4-2 Tuesday.
The Yankees have won seven of their last eight games.

Cairo drove in his runs with a single in the fifth inning and Sheffield homered in the ninth.
New York starter Jose Contreras (4-2) got the win with relief help from Gabe White, Tom Gordon and Mariano Rivera, who recorded his 27th save.
The Diamondbacks' runs came on a homer by Andy Green in the third inning.
