New York entered the game with back-to-back victories and scored seven runs in a series-opening win Tuesday. But against the Indians' ace, they could muster just four singles and two doubles. Sabathia walked one and struck out three before giving way to former Met Rick White, who tossed a hitless ninth.

Martinez drove in a run in the opening inning with a double that extended his hitting streak to 14 games. Coco Crisp plated a run in the fourth and, after New York got on the board in the bottom of the inning, Cleveland scored three times in the sixth.

Martinez had another RBI double in the ninth and Blake capped the four-run frame with his ninth homer -- a two-run shot off Tyler Yates.

New York starter Matt Ginter (1-1) allowed five runs -- three earned -- and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
