DETROIT, June 3 (UPI) -- Carlos Beltran drove in four runs as Kansas City beat Detroit 9-6 Thursday.
Beltran hit a two-run double in the third inning, drove in a run with a single in the fourth and another with a double in the seventh.

Kansas City starter Dennys Reyes (2-0) allowed six hits and five runs in 6 2/3 innings and got relief help from Nate Field and Jeremy Affeldt, who picked up his fifth save.
The Tigers trailed 9-2 before rallying for four runs in the seventh inning.
Detroit starter Jeremy Bonderman (4-5) gave up nine hits and seven runs in three-plus innings.
The teams split a four-game series.
