SEATTLE, June 2 (UPI) -- Vernon Wells' two-run homer was the big hit as the Toronto Blue Jays beat Seattle 6-5 Tuesday night.

Toronto trailed 5-4 entering the sixth inning and went ahead when Wells homered following a single by Reed Johnson. The home run, Wells' seventh, came off Mariners' rookie reliever Clint Nageotte (0-1) who took the loss.

Aquilino Lopez (1-1) was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits and a run in 2 1/3 innings.

Rookie Jason Frasor got his fourth save, escaping a bases-loaded Seattle rally in the eighth inning and then pitching a scoreless ninth.
