PITTSBURGH, June 1 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols went 5-for-5 and drove in three runs Tuesday as the St. Louis Cardinals rolled to an 8-1 rout of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Cardinals improved to 20-6 -- the most wins by any visiting team in the four-year history of PNC Park. Their latest victory came after Scott Rolen got hit in the helmet with a pitch by Ryan Vogelsong.
Rolen stayed in the game and scored on Edgar Renteria's grounder, which made it 3-0 in the first inning. After the Cardinals batted, they removed Rolen as a precautionary measure.
Without the major league leader in RBI, the Cardinals built a 5-0 lead on Pujols' RBI single in the second inning. Pujols hit a two-run homer off Brian Boheringer in the third for a 7-0 advantage.
In addition to hitting his major league-leading 16th homer, Pujols had two singles and a pair of doubles.
