SAN FRANCISCO, May 30 (UPI) -- A pair of reserves, Yorvit Torrealba and Dustan Mohr, led the way Saturday night to a 5-3 San Francisco Giants triumph over the Colorado Rockies.
Torrealba snapped a tie with a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning and Mohr added a solo homer in the seventh to give the Giants their eighth straight victory.
The clutch hits made a winner out of starter Jerome Williams (4-3), who allowed three runs and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings.
Jason Christiansen came on and struck out Jeromy Burnitz, and manager Felipe Alou summoned Felix Rodriguez to finish the inning. But Rodriguez allowed an infield single to rookie Matt Holliday and walked pinch hitter Mark Sweeney, forcing Alou to bring in closer Matt Herges.
Colorado grabbed a 1-0 lead on Burnitz's RBI single and took a 2-1 edge on Todd Helton's run-scoring hit in the fifth. But the Rockies lost the lead when Fassero gave up an RBI double to Bonds.
