MLS: San Jose 4, Los Angeles 2

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 23 (UPI) -- Brian Ching scored two goals as the San Jose Earthquakes built a big lead and held on for a 4-2 Saturday night victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Ching opened the scoring with a goal in the final minute of the first half, then tallied his fifth goal of the season three minutes into the second half.

Both goals were assisted by Richard Mulrooney. Six minutes later, Brain Mullan scored his first goal to make it 3-0 before the Galaxy (4-2-3) began their comeback.

Andreas Herzog struck in the 61st minute and Joseph Ngwenya made it 3-2 in the 74th minute.

But the Earthquakes (3-2-3) sealed it in the 79th minute on a goal by Dwayne De Rosario, who also had a pair of assists.
