FOXBORO, Mass., May 23 (UPI) -- Pat Noonan of the New England Revolution scored against the MetroStars, which salvaged a 1-1 tie Saturday night on Cornell Glen's second-half goal.
Noonan's second goal of the season was unassisted and came in the seventh minute, giving New England a 1-0 lead. Over the last two seasons, Noonan has scored 10 goals against the Metrostars, including at least one in the last five meetings.
Glen scored his third goal of the year in the 55th minute, a tally set up by Mark Lisi. Glen had half of the MetroStars' six shots on goal. Matt Reis made five saves for the Revolution (1-3-3), while Jonny Walker had three for the MetroStars (2-1-4).
The Revolution's unbeaten streak against the MetroStars includes both games in last year's Eastern Conference semifinal series.
