MLB: Pittsburgh 3, Milwaukee 1

PITTSBURGH, May 22 (UPI) -- Josh Fogg allowed one run and five hits in six-plus innings Saturday to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 3-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Through 5 1/2 innings, Fogg (2-4) was matched in a 1-1 tie with Ben Sheets, who was making his first start since striking out 18 Atlanta Braves on Sunday. The Pirates pushed across two runs in the bottom of the sixth without the benefit of a hit.

Craig Wilson led off with a walk and was forced on a grounder by Rob Mackowiak, who stole second and third. Jason Bay walked and moved up on a wild pitch, putting runners on second and third. Mackowiak scored on Abraham Nunez's grounder and Bay came home when Sheets threw away Tike Redman's comebacker.

Sheets (4-3), who struck out only three, allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings.
