Surprise leaders in LPGA event

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., May 20 (UPI) -- Silvia Cavalleri of Italy, Korean Young-A Yang and rookie Nadina Taylor of Australia shared the lead Thursday after one round of the Sybase Classic.

None of the first-round co-leaders has finished inside the top 20 in a combined 20 starts this season. They have totaled only five top-10s in 142 career appearances on the LPGA Tour.

Sherri Steinhauer, Becky Morgan of Wales and Soo-Yun Kang of Korea shared fourth place at 67. Rookie Amy Hung of Taiwan shot a 68 with Grace Park of Korea and Aussie Rachel Teske among five players recording 69s.
