MLB: Minnesota 6, Toronto 5

TORONTO, May 19 (UPI) -- Pinch-hitter Matthew LeCroy hit a one-out, grand slam homer off Terry Adams Wednesday to rally Minnesota past Toronto, 6-5.

It was the seventh win in nine games for the Twins, who erased a 5-2 deficit with LeCroy's one swing and won the rubber game of the three-game series.

Torii Hunter led off the ninth with a single. One out later, Michael Cuddyer singled to right and Henry Blanco reached safely on an infield hit to load the bases.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire had a depleted bench with former Blue Jay Shannon Stewart (right foot), Doug Mientkiewicz (lower back) and Luis Rivas (groin) nursing injuries. He had no choice but to use LeCroy to hit for light-hitting Alex Prieto, who was none for three with two strikeouts.

It was the first pinch-hit, grand slam for Minnesota in seven seasons.
