NEW ORLEANS, May 14 (UPI) -- The New Orleans Saints re-signed center Jerry Fontenot to a one-year contract.

The 6-3, 300-pound, 15-year veteran has started 100 games for the Saints since 1997, including all 16 each of the last five seasons.

"We are glad to have Jerry back in the fold, he is very familiar with our system," said General Manager Mickey Loomis. "He brings veteran experience and quality depth to our offensive line."

Fontenot has played in 228 games in his career, including 189 starts. He played the first 128 games with the Chicago Bears, who drafted him in the third round in 1989 out of Texas A&M.
