CINCINNATI, May 5 (UPI) -- After wasting chances in the eighth and ninth, Cincinnati got a homer from Juan Castro with one out in the 10th Wednesday night to defeat Milwaukee, 5-4.
Cincinnati left runners at the corners in the eighth and the bases loaded in the ninth. Milwaukee reliever Jeff Bennett (1-2) started the 10th and got Javier Valentin.
Castro then hit for pitcher Danny Graves and launched a 1-1 pitch into the left field stands. It was Castro's first homer since Aug. 17.
Valentin and Adam Dunn also homered for Cincinnati, which erased an early 3-0 deficit.
Graves (1-2) allowed two hits in two scoreless innings to notch the win. His effort capped a big effort by the Cincinnati bullpen, which combined on 5 2/3 scoreless innings after starter Jose Acevedo had to leave with a blister in the fifth inning.
