Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga., April 29 (UPI) -- Christina Kim upstaged the return of Annika Sorenstam on Thursday, firing a 7-under 65 for the first-round lead at the Chick-fil-A Championship.
Kim started her round with three straight birdies, then strung together three more on her back nine to move one shot ahead of Korea's Grace Park.
Cristie Kerr, who won a marathon playoff two weeks ago at the Takefuji Classic, was tied with Becky Morgan and Canada's Lorie Kane at 67.
Returning from a three-week break, Sorenstam offset four birdies with three bogeys and was tied for 25th after a 71.
Defending champion Se Ri Pak of Korea put herself in contention with a 68 that was capped by a seven-foot eagle putt.
